What do Periodontists do?
A periodontist is a specialist with formal residency training in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of periodontal (gum) disease and other oral health problems including gingival (gum) recession. Periodontists are specially trained to save teeth when possible and remove them when they can no longer be saved. Periodontists are also specially trained to replace missing teeth when they are lost using dental implants. Periodontists are also experts in oral plastic surgery and regenerating lost gum and bone around teeth and implants. Here are some things periodontists can do to help you:
Gum GraftingPeriodontists are specially trained to help cover exposed root surfaces and thicken gum tissue to prevent future gum recession.

Treating Gum DiseaseTreatment of gum disease varies from laser treatments to surgery. Cosmetic treatments can help patients who want longer, more beautiful teeth.
|
Placing ImplantsSingle or multiple implants can be used to replace missing teeth, failing bridges, support removable dentures and reconstruct same day smiles with All-On-4.
|
Regenerating BonePeople who have had teeth missing for a long time often require bone grafting or sinus lifts to prepare their mouth for implant placement.

Working with a Concierge Periodontist
Dr. Hai is a concierge periodontist in Southern California who brings her own instruments and equipment to provide treatment for patients in your office. Working with a concierge periodontist is beneficial for patients who will have direct access to Dr Hai 24/7, forming a stronger bond and receiving personalized care in the office they are already comfortable in. For doctors, this means easier communication to complete care from start to finish all under one roof. Being able to treat patients side-by-side with a specialist who will spend more time with your patients means more efficient care and better treatment.
